Street Cars in Cincinnati soon?

This really sound like good news, The Business Courier is reporting that the Street Car impact study came back with favorable results and Chris Bortz asked city administrators
to report back to council within a month on how best to build and finance a streetcar system.
Initially it won’t help us too much at Parker Flats but once its proven to be wildly successful, there are plans for extra lines and one will run out our way. I can’t wait.

parkerflats.info: One year old.

Hard to believe its been a year since I started this blog. It began as a way to release some frustration and mess around with blogs and some ideas I had. And it cost me a whole $1.99 from godaddy.
I pulled a picture from ever month that one was posted, just to get an idea of the progress.

Parker Flats: Mondays Pictures

I couldn't get over how looking north from McFarland the construction is right there in your face. They poured Saturday and have already started on the next level.

Parker Flats: January 2008 move in?

I ran into Jay Voss Saturday at the construction site while the cement was poured and he said they are optimistic about us being in sometime in January. Lets hope the weather cooperates.
(We slipped in later and tagged our parking spots. OOPS did I say that outloud?)
Just kidding.

1st level of Parking

They have the forms in place, but there is a bunch of rebar that needs placed. I bet they pour by the end of the week.
I read this on Building Cincinnati
Cincinnati City Council has approved of grants and loans that will help close a $1.7 million funding gap in the Parker Flats project.
Last month, Council authorized a $450,000 loan to Middle Earth Developers from capital improvement funds.
The loan, which would be subordinate to the agreement the developers have with LaSalle Bank, would be repaid from the sale of units.
In a seperate ordinance, Council authorized a $500,000 grant. Councilmembers Ghiz and Monzel voted against the grant.
The developers are working with LaSalle Bank to close the remaining gap.

There were no other links or references so I don't know where the information came from.
